Substantiation of this Report is minimal at best; I am not familiar with other persons researching this area of southern Wisconsin. My own investigations at Rutland Gate began in the autumn of 2014[1] [2] [3] [4] and ended in the spring of 2015; I have not returned since then. There are no published reports for Green, Jefferson, Rock, or Walworth Counties on the BFRO website,[5] although two reports each for adjacent Dane and Waukesha Counties are available.[6] [7] Nonetheless, a cursory review of same suggests considerable activity in this region.

The combination of physical, visual, audible and/or olfactory events described in this Report are:

  1. The small, brilliant flashes of white light, observed in the ravine, experienced throughout;
  2. The sound of soft, muffled voices, heard deep in the woods;
  3. The eerie quiet and stillness, when we entered the main path;
  4. The sounds of movement, heard on the hill above the main path;
  5. The glimpse of something passing between two trees, ditto;
  6. The observation of a strange, white figure peering from the trees, which disappeared suddenly;
  7. The strange phenomenon of my shadow, observed on the path as I walked along the path, cast from an unseen light source on a dark, cloudy night with no moon and no stars;
  8. The horrifying behaviour of same, rotating around me as I progressed along the path;
  9. The sound of two soft, clear wood-knocks heard from the ravine;
  10. The strip of pale, white light shining across the path behind us;
  11. The extreme dizziness and nausea experienced on the path, and again as I returned to the truck;
  12. The observation of a sphere-shaped, aerial craft floating silently over the path;
  13. The sudden, brilliant beam of light cast by same, upon the path ahead;
  14. The strange, blue-white glow or shimmer observed in the ravine;
  15. The second, strange silver-white glow or shimmer, ditto;
  16. The horrible disorientation experienced when returning to the truck;
  17. The observation of a large, broad-shouldered figure standing directly behind me, with thick, shiny dark-brown hair, motionless and silent;
  18. The fresh boot-tracks in the snowbanks, which had not been there when we arrived.

These behaviours, and the history of my own experiences, may be considered sufficient to suggest the presence of EC [8] at Rutland Gate, in the winter of 2015.

The extreme dizziness and nausea experienced throughout my visit to Rutland Gate may be considered a personal infrasound event, lacking any other definition; however, it did not prevent me from continuing my field work. Such effect upon my physical and perceptive senses suggest some type of sensory manipulation, although further clarification is almost impossible to confirm.

Additionally, it is reasonable to suggest the presence of an unidentified aerial phenomenon, which inexplicably appeared and behaved. Lacking other considerations, the possibility of misidentification and/or a hoax, perpetrated by a person or person(s) unknown, cannot be dismissed from this account.

It is reasonable to suggest the presence of other person(s) at Rutland Gate the evening of 17 January 2015, evidenced by the sound of voices heard in the woods, and the fresh boot prints observed in the snowbank. This statement may merit further investigation; no confirmation of same has yet been provided, to date.

An unusual number of subjective events also occurred. While these cannot be considered conclusive evidence, neither should they be discounted. Although it is reasonable to review the impact of non-objective stimuli in this Report, such effects, while personally quite vivid and at times overwhelming, are nonetheless nearly impossible to substantiate with any measure of certainty.
