Substantiation of this Report may be provided by numerous reports published online, including recent observations in Beach Park, only a few miles away,[1] and also by my own investigations in Lake County, Illinois, which began, in earnest, in the spring and summer of 2015.[2]

The combination of physical, visual, audible and/or olfactory events described in this Report are as follows:

  1. The repeated foul, unpleasant odour noticed outside, which dissipated shortly thereafter;
  2. The dog’s repeated refusal to go outside, even walking backwards away from the door;
  3. The dog’s refusal to go around to the front of the house;
  4. The freezing, cold chill which swept through me as I attempted to do so;
  5. The large, dark shape observed in the neighbour’s garden, which looked directly at me and then which suddenly disappeared;
  6. The brilliant, red orb of light which floated casually down the neighbour’s drive and down the street;
  7. The large, oval area of flattened-down grass and brush observed behind the neighbour’s garage;
  8. The sound of loud, heavy footsteps heard pacing back and forth, ditto;
  9. The large, dark mass observed on the ground, with brilliant yellow eyes, and which suddenly stood up;
  10. The possible shelter assembly with arched branches, observed behind the neighbour’s garage.

These behaviours, and the history of my own experience, may be considered sufficient to suggest the presence of EC[3] in Lake County, Illinois, in the late summer and early autumn of 2014.

A number of subjective events also occurred. While these cannot be considered conclusive evidence, neither should they be discounted. Although it is reasonable to review the impact of non-objective stimuli in this Report, such effects, while personally quite vivid and at times overwhelming, are nonetheless nearly impossible to substantiate with any measure of certainty.
