Substantiation of this Report is minimal at best; it is provided only by my own witness,[1] [2] and that of the Olsen, Powers, and Meade families with whom I stayed over the weekend. Nonetheless, a cursory review of published accounts suggest considerable activity in West Virginia.[3] [4]

As of this writing, I am unaware of other investigations in this area, which I might reference.

Nonetheless, my experiences at Area W, alone or with the Olsen, Powers, and Meade families, suggest a possibility of some population of EC, either in residence or in passage; said possibility is evidenced by physical, visual, audible and/or olfactory behaviours, vis-à-vis visual sightings, auditory and olfactory experiences, and physical traces, including branch assemblies, footprints, et al.

The combination of physical, visual, audible and/or olfactory events described in this Report are as follows:

  1. The possible signs of movement on the hill, as observed by Steve Olsen;
  2. The large, grey-haired figure glimpsed outside the kitchen;
  3. The sounds of movement in the brush, on the southwest hill;
  4. The sound of something large and heavy, coming down the hill;
  5. The impenetrable blackness outside the Meade cabin;
  6. The shadows passing in front of my bedroom window;
  7. The strong impression of something looking at me through the window.

These behaviours, and the history of my own experience, may be considered sufficient to suggest the presence of EC [5] at Area W, in the spring of 2013.

A highly unusual number of other subjective events also occurred. While these cannot be considered conclusive, neither should they be discounted. Although it is reasonable to review the impact of non-objective stimuli in this Report, such effects, while personally quite vivid and at times overwhelming, are nonetheless nearly impossible to substantiate with any measure of certainty.
