Substantiation of this Report is minimal at best; it is provided only by my own witness,[1] and that of the Olsen, Powers, and Meade families with whom I stayed over the weekend. Nonetheless, a cursory review of published accounts suggest considerable activity in West Virginia.[2] [3]

As of this writing, I am unaware of other investigations in this area, which I might reference.

Nonetheless, my experiences at Area W, alone or with the Olsen, Powers, and Meade families, suggest a possibility of some population of EC, either in residence or in passage; said possibility is evidenced by physical, visual, audible and/or olfactory behaviours, vis-à-vis visual sightings, auditory and olfactory experiences, and physical traces, including branch assemblies, footprints, et al.

The combination of physical, visual, audible and/or olfactory events described in this Report are as follows:

  1. The return of the apples to the picnic table, within the space of approximately thirty minutes;
  2. The placement of the grill, on the picnic table, ditto;
  3. The mild disorientation I experienced when I entered the woods;
  4. The strange, eerie quiet at the top of the hill;
  5. The unusually-shaped branch assembly on the ground in the dingle;
  6. The strange calls heard to the west, resembling wild turkeys;
  7. The strange, chattering, chimp-like sounds heard to the west;
  8. The large ‘X’ formation observed at the top of the hill;
  9. The strangely coloured red hawk or eagle, observed to the south;
  10. The sound of clear, bipaedal footsteps behind me;
  11. The strange behaviour of the crow, circling our heads as we descended the hill.

These behaviours, and the history of my own experience, may be considered sufficient to suggest the presence of EC [1]at Area W, in the spring of 2013.

A highly unusual number of other subjective events also occurred. While these cannot be considered conclusive, neither should they be discounted. Although it is reasonable to review the impact of non-objective stimuli in this Report, such effects, while personally quite vivid and at times overwhelming, are nonetheless nearly impossible to substantiate with any measure of certainty.
