Substantiation of this Report is minimal, at best; there are no published reports of encounters and/or sightings for Van Buren County on the BFRO website.[1] However, there is a sighting report from July 1990 on the Bigfoot Encounters[2] website, which took place in Decatur, approximately fifty miles (50mi, or 80.5km) to the south. In 1964, the famous “Sister Lakes Monster”[3] was reported in Keeler Township,[4] in the southwest corner of Van Buren County and adjacent Cass County.

The combination of physical, visual, audible and/or olfactory events described in this Report are as follows:

  1. The strange, musical humming sound, strongly reminiscent of the film Pan’s Labyrinth;[5]
  2. The strange, dark shadow ducking back and forth behind the rotted stump;
  3. The unusual, clear voice, which spoke to me, We want to talk to you;
  4. The numerous tracks observed in the ploughed field;
  5. The discovery of the freshly broken-off tree branch, placed on my seat in the truck;
  6. The inexplicable feeling of being summoned, or commanded, to enter the woods.

Based upon these factors, it is reasonable to suggest the presence of EC at Watson Hill Farm; a confirmed sighting had been reported there by our host, and there are other reports from the area as well, although not during the same time period.

Additionally, based upon certain of these factors, it is reasonable to suggest that I was, somehow, singled out and/or approached by one or more EC during my visit; one remarkable proof is the freshly-snapped tree branch, found in the backseat of the truck, where I had been sitting. The tree branch was shown to another member of the party; he can bear witness to this behaviour. The remaining factors to support this statement, albeit subjective, should not be discounted for this reason alone.

A number of subjective events also occurred at Watson Hill Farm; while these cannot be considered conclusive evidence of EC, they cannot be discounted in their entirety. Nonetheless, they may be considered as peripheral, and therefore possibly pertinent, to the physical, visual, audible and olfactory events outlined above.
